The Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) program was started for the first time in Nepal at the Kathmandu University in 1994 AD.
B Pharm courses has been designed to prepare professionals responsible for the preparation, dispensing and appropriate use of medication to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Graduates of this department have successfully joined degree with scholarship/fellowship/assistantship support in several renowned universities accross world. The rigorous practical and project-based training prepares students for good positions in pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, community pharmacy, academia, regulatory bodies, research organizations and many more.
Entry criteria into the programme and entrance exam: Passed 10+2 Science (Biology Group) or Equivalent securing at least 50% separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50% aggregate in total marks OR Secured at least C+ grade separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least C grade in remaining individual subjects along with GPA 2.4 OR Secured the percentage equivalent to above eligibility in regards to the certificate level programs (A-Level) with different grading system

Applicants who have passed the Health Science Proficiency Certificate Level in respective PCL program (General Medicine, Medical Lab Technology, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Pharmacy) with at least 50% aggregate in total marks
The number of student intake: The number of intake per year is 60 students and have no any affilated campus.

Note:
Final year students are required to undergo 4-6 week in-plant training in the pharmaceutical industry as arranged by the department.
