The Buses of Happiness
I often find myself thinking about happiness. One day, I was on a bus packed with people, everyone complaining about not having enough space. When I finally reached my stop and switched to another bus, I found it completely empty. The driver sighed, upset that no one was riding with him.
In that moment, I realized how different their feelings were. The packed bus had frustrated people, while the empty one had a lonely driver. Outside, I saw street vendors happily selling oranges and grapes, their customers smiling as they bought fresh fruit.
It made me wonder: is happiness just about being in a packed bus or an empty one? I don’t think so. Happiness is personal, and we all have to find our own way to it. It’s not defined by the number of people around us or our circumstances.
I sometimes catch myself thinking, “Why am I feeling sad now if I’m saving my happiness for later?” It’s as if I’m treating happiness like money, believing it will grow if I hold onto it. But happiness doesn’t work that way. It’s like a flower: if you pick it and don’t take care of it, it will wilt.
So, let’s not wait for the perfect moment. Let’s cherish today. Find joy in the little things—a kind word, a warm drink, a sunny day. Life is too short to postpone happiness.
Remember to appreciate the beauty around you and share kindness with others. Happiness is not just a destination; it’s the journey we create every day.
